The Roosevelt XL by Oz Machine Company takes the clean, calculated lines of the original and scales them up with purpose. Designed by Daniel Osborne and built entirely in-house in Attica, Indiana, this Angle‑Milled XL focuses on precision, balance, and that unmistakable Oz feel in hand.

The 3.75″ drop point blade is full flat ground from Vanax and hardened to 61–62 HRC. A dark stonewash finish keeps glare down and wears use well while holding a refined look. With a 3.50″ cutting edge and 0.125″ stock, it slices cleanly yet still has enough backbone for real work. The oversized thumb hole pairs with a tuned detent and ceramic bearings for smooth, versatile deployment whether you reverse flick, slow roll, or use a straight thumb push.

The titanium handle features Daniel’s signature Angle milling, adding texture and visual depth while keeping the 0.46″ profile slim in pocket. A frame lock with hardened insert delivers secure, consistent lockup. Internal milling trims weight to 5.08 oz, so the XL carries lighter than its size suggests and fills the hand without feeling bulky.

What sets this example off is the finish contrast. The blade and scales wear a dark stonewash that reads purposeful and subdued, while the clip, hardware, and backspacer are stonewashed to a lighter tone. That shift in shade breaks up the profile, catches light in the milling, and gives the knife a cohesive but layered look.

In hand, the XL format adds reach and presence without losing the Roosevelt’s trademark fluidity. Edges around the thumb hole are softened for comfort, the action is glassy and controlled, and lockup closes with a clean, confident snap.
